Frequently Asked Questions

Who can benefit from these clinics?

Badminton players of nearly all levels who want to improve their smashing technique, power, and confidence on the court. The clinics are suitable for adults, teenagers, and players aged 16 or older.

Are the badminton clinics offered in person?

Absolutely! Our clinics are regularly held in different locations throughout Australia. You can check out the “Locations” section above to find the most suitable date and location for you.

What is the coach-to-player ratio in the clinic sessions?

We ensure that each clinic session is personalised and effective by having one coach from The Badminton Hub for every 4 badminton players. This ratio allows for an optimal learning environment and ensures that each player receives sufficient attention and guidance from the coach.

What level of badminton is recommended to attend a clinic?

We recommend having good hand-eye coordination, basic badminton skills and being able to sustain a rally for at least 10 shots as the minimum requirement to fully benefit from the clinics. It’s also beneficial that you are able to hit the shuttle down so we have a benchmark to measure against when filming.

I’ve had bad experiences with badminton coaching before, how is this program any different?

We understand that many players have had negative experiences with coaching in the past, and we want to assure you that our badminton coaching program is different. We use a unique coaching method that is supportive, relaxed, and comes with zero pressure. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident on the court by giving you personalised advice and allowing you to learn at your own pace.

Will I be playing against other badminton players at the clinics?

Not exactly. The Badminton Hub community is focused on helping each other improve, not on competing against one another. The main goal is to focus on personal progress and beating your own personal bests. But if we have time then a friendly game at the end is always encouraged so you can put your new smashing skills into practice. 😊

Will I get tired from all that smashing?

The good news is players often say time zips by! And while you might feel a bit tired, it’s actually not as intense as our regular 2-hour weekly training sessions. In each round, you’d typically hit around 10 shuttles, making it totally doable. That means you’ll have plenty of chill moments to catch your breath while you learn some smash theory, have a blast playing, review your videos, and even lend a hand by feeding shuttles to others. So, no worries – it’s a balanced mix of action and relaxation!

How can I review my badminton videos and analysis after the coaching session?

We provide you with complimentary access to the Skillest app, which allows you to easily access and review your videos and analysis from the comfort of your home or during your training. The Skillest app is compatible with IOS and Android devices, and can also be accessed through your web browser.

Who will be my coach on the day?

At the badminton clinic, your coach will be an experienced member of The Badminton Hub coaching team who have a background in competing at an Open Grade or certified BWF coach. They will provide supportive coaching aligned with your specific goals for improving your badminton skills.

How does payment work for the clinic?

When you register for our badminton clinic today, a payment of $149 will be charged. After successful payment, you will receive confirmation of your booking along with all the necessary details about your upcoming clinic.

Who can I talk to if I still have questions?

Our team is available to answer any questions you have. Simply email us at coach@thebadmintonhub.com and we’ll respond back to you as quickly as possible.
